ABOUT

Bob Mulligan

Bob Mulligan, PhD never wanted a job, so he took up coaching. He's still at it.

Bob brings a supportive and positive coaching mentality into every role he's had during his long career, from coaching high school and college athletes to university teaching in the Health Sciences to developing and managing several fitness facilities nationwide.

He was also a key figure at the start of the personal training movement and appeared in a popular instructor training video series used by fitness clubs nationwide.

Bob was asked in a TV interview after he had moved from teaching into private business, “What was it like to leave teaching and go into the health club business?” His answer was simple:” I've never left teaching. I've always been a coach and a teacher. I work every day training my staff members. I constantly interact with my members, helping them get the most out of their program. My passion has always been helping people do what they want to do. That’s not work.”

His most recent book, ALMOST CONSISTENT FITNESS, is an easy and practical habit reset guide for the on-again, off-again exerciser. If that’s you, Bob would love to be your coach.

Bob did something active today and will probably show up and do something active tomorrow.

He lives with his family in northern Wisconsin and is a leader in promoting positive fitness habits based on the principle of Relentless Moderation.
